Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Nutrition, Food & Environmental Services, the Manager, Food & Environmental Services is responsible for operational leadership and performance in food services and environmental services and supports long term planning in both departments. The Manager, Food & Environmental Services provides coaching and accountability to the Food Services and Environmental Services Supervisors. The Manager is responsible to oversee activities of recruitment, training, and development, budget monitoring, policy & procedure development and ensuring all work carried out is completed in a safe and efficient manner. They ensure the departments provide high quality, safe, evidence-based care in partnership with all GGH staff, and in keeping with the vision, mission and values of GGH. In collaboration with the Director, they implement initiatives that align with departmental goals and the strategic goals and objectives of the organization

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- University Degree in Human Nutrition or College Diploma in Food Service Management
- 3 years of experience directly supervising staff preferably in a unionized workplace
- 5 years of experience working in Food Services and Environmental Services in a Healthcare setting
- Completed or currently enrolled in, the Environmental Service Leadership Program through Canadian Healthcare Housekeeping Association with an anticipated completion date within 3 months of hire
- Current membership with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management
- Current membership with the Canadian Housekeeping Healthcare Association
- Proven ability to manage numerous and diverse activities, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands and expectations
- Demonstrated knowledge of Housekeeping and related regulated infection control practices and processes including those of PIDAC
- Experience supervising/managing staff performance, attendance and scheduling in a unionized workplace
- Experience with Lean process improvement methodologies, or similar, preferred including project management
- Self-directed and demonstrated excellence in decision making and critical thinking
- Effective team player with demonstrated ability to motivate staff, and work well with various groups both within the organization and externally
