AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTION OPERATOR/ASSEMBLY LINE OPERATOR/ Will Train - $19.96 per hour to start!

Responsible for assembling vehicle seat components on a production line. This includes installing frames, foam padding, upholstery, and mechanical parts such as recliners or headrests. The role involves using hand and power tools, following detailed work instructions, and ensuring each seat meets quality and safety standards. Assemblers must work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, and maintain attention to detail while adhering to workplace safety procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

Perform all operations and processes within the assigned work center.

  • Communicate quality, safety, and customer satisfaction concerns in a timely manner.
  • Notify the supervisor or team leader of any issues at the workstation using the ANDON process.
  • Perform all tasks according to operator description sheet standards and complete in-station repairs as required.
  • Follow all plant safety and operational rules and regulations.
  • Maintain established quality standards and housekeeping requirements.
  • Take appropriate corrective action when substandard performance is identified.
  • Support ongoing plant initiatives, including TS16949, ISO14001, problem-solving, and continuous improvement activities.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Follow all plant safety and operational policies established by Company and the division.
  • Promptly respond to hazards, defects, or non-compliance issues brought to attention.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies of Division
  • Adhere to all applicable legislative requirements, including the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Workplace Safety & Insurance Act, as well as sections 27 and 28 (duties of supervisor and worker).

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience including 2 years of manufacturing assembly.
  • Seat assembly experience.
  • Able to identify product which does not meet customer expectations.
  • Ability to document and communicate observed quality deficiencies.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Completed Grade 12 education or equivalent.

 

Physical Conditions:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 25–50 lbs (11–23 kg).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Manual dexterity to use hand tools and assemble small to medium-sized components.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and industrial conditions (noise, machinery, etc.).
  • Able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
