Job Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to join their manufacturing team for 2 months. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and fixtures used in the production process. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD software, and experience with CNC machinery to ensure the highest quality standards in tooling and manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures using CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Program and operate CNC machines including CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, and other machining equipment to produce precision components.
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
  • Use hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Perform machining operations with a focus on precision, quality, and safety.
  • Assemble machined parts into finished tools or dies, ensuring proper fit and function.
  • Conduct welding or other fabrication processes as needed to complete assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to improve efficiency or quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role within manufacturing or machining environments.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC programming and operation of CNC lathe and CNC milling machines.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge including familiarity with schematics, math skills for precise measurements, and assembly techniques.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, calipers, welding equipment, and reading technical drawings or schematics.
